Planet-X: The First Arrivals is the console and PC version of Planet-X — not a spin-off or a separate franchise, but the same universe rebuilt at AAA scale for hardware that can carry it.

The basics

  • Genre: AAA FPS / Extraction shooter
  • Platform: PC, PlayStation, Xbox
  • Status: Future release
  • Release date: Not yet announced

How it differs from mobile Planet-X

The core loop carries over: hunt for treasure, survive, extract. What changes is everything around it. The studio describes a lore-rich, fully immersive take on the Planet-X universe, with Halo-style environments and a PvPvE structure where rival squads are only half the problem — the planet's native threats are the other half.

Islands are described as having unpredictable weather, dynamic terrain, and evolving native threats. If that holds up in practice, it means map knowledge alone will not carry a run the way it can in a static extraction shooter.

PvPvE changes the risk calculation

In a pure PvP extraction shooter, every threat is a player, and player behaviour is broadly predictable. Adding an environment that actively fights back means the safest-looking route can be the one that kills you, and a fight you win can leave you too exposed to survive what the island sends next.

  • Survival means more than glory — the studio's own framing, and a real design signal.
  • Expect extraction timing to matter more, not less, than it does on mobile.
  • Environmental knowledge becomes a skill axis alongside aim.

Temper your timeline expectations

This is positioned as a long-term project rather than an imminent release. Mobile Planet-X is the studio's near-term focus and is itself still in closed beta. Treat The First Arrivals as something to watch rather than something to wait up for.
