ExtractionGamer has renamed itself PlanetXGuide. The old domain now redirects to planetxguide.com, and the site has narrowed its focus to match the new name: Planet-X, in depth, with a set of tools built around the game's systems.

It is a sensible rename. The previous name described a genre; the new one describes what the site actually does.

What the site covers

PlanetXGuide is built around Planet-X specifically rather than the wider Gallaxia lineup. Its guides run from beginner fundamentals through to advanced extraction strategy, and the map coverage is already specific; Horizon Shores, Dunes Edge, Mushroom Island, and Dreadroot Hollow each get their own treatment.

The part that stands out is the tooling. Rather than stopping at written guides, the site ships interactive calculators aimed at the decisions Planet-X actually asks you to make:

  • Hunt Streak Calculator — how streak progression scales rewards.
  • Engagement Optimizer — whether a fight is worth taking.
  • Sensitivity Analyzer — tuning your control settings.
  • Wallet Value Estimator — what your assets are actually worth.
  • Market Overview, Market Intelligence and Value Analysis — item pricing and trends.

That is an extra and different kind of resource from the written guides. Planet-X is a game about risk-weighted decisions: when to fight, when to leave, what a haul is worth against the chance of losing it, and those are exactly the questions a calculator can answer better than just written words can.

How it relates to this site

We should be upfront that we know the people behind PlanetXGuide. Readers can weigh this coverage accordingly, and it is also why we can say with confidence that the work there is genuine rather than churned out.

The two sites do not do the same job. PlanetXGuide goes deep on one game and builds tools for it. Gallaxia Guides covers the whole Gallaxia Studio lineup; Planet-X alongside One Pixel, Go Hunt, The First Arrivals and the rest, which means breadth across titles rather than depth in one.

If Planet-X is the game you care about, PlanetXGuide will take you further into it than we will, and its tools have no equivalent here. If you want to know what else the studio is building and how the games relate to each other, that is the gap we are trying to fill. Most players interested in one will get something out of the other.

Where to find it

The site is at planetxguide.com. Old ExtractionGamer links still work and redirect automatically.
